Please do not add me if you just want to be popular on LJ. I enjoy making friends on LJ and take the time to get to know people. Read their entries and make comments. Sorry that I have to say this, but it is becoming an issue. OK, aside from that.
I'm 30 years old. Very sweet, open and caring. I have social anxiety disorder and although I'm dong much better at going out. I can only go to certain places. So LJ and such sites are good to me and I make a lot of great friends here. I've had several accounts on LJ off and on for several years. This is a new one due to health issues. This is my spiritual type account. I also talk about being a SoulBond. I like to pretend I'm interesting but I'm not naive enough to think I'm special though.

I love horror movies, scrapbooking , and animals. A lot of other things too though but that's just to name a few. Please check out my two intro posts and profile. -Sissy

To all the people who are thirtysomething

Hello,  I'm new to the Live Journal.  This is actually my second posting.  I'm looking for people in my age group to talk with.  I'm finding out how much fun having a computer can be.  I never used it in this way before, it was always a source of a migrain headache.  That is until my 19 yr old nephew moved in with me and showed me other uses for it.  So here I am....  If anyone wants to talk feel free.

Where R U From?
Hey everybody, what's up.  I was wondering if we all on here could post where each of us are from. Perhaps we could find some of us are local and could meet up or do the lj message thing.  What does everyone think?

Any Bay Area, CA 30' something's on here? ;-)

Really great contest
Ok, I know this isn't really a 30 something specific but- as a 34 year old woman living on my own I know I have acquired quite a bit of clutter over they years. I also dream of making over my home and feeling like I get to creep closer to "middle age" with more of a sense of organization and stability. When I got this info I thought some other might feel the same way I do. Sadly, I can't enter this but you all can. :-)

This is a contest with The Style Network and Niecy Nash. It is the search for The Messiest Home in America. They ran this last year and only redid one room. This year they are doing the whole house. (And yes, I am hating it that I can’t enter.) It’s super easy to enter. You make a video of your home and family that is 1-5 min. Mail it or upload it along with sending in the entry form. Wahllah!

Here is the video that was submitted by last year’s winner.

Last year there were only 50 entries. My last update (just before Christmas) was that there were only about 5 entries so far for this year so you stand a REALLY GOOD chance of winning.

Anyway, check out some of the videos and then enter on your own. Clear some clutter and support your habit. J
Happy Holiday every one.
Oh, and if anyone wins I want to move in with you after it is done. ;-)

40 is coming

I just turned 38 last week and now I know that I am on the verge of 40.  I am really looking forward to my 40's.  I had my 20 yr high school reunion which I didnt go to Saturday and I was looking at the pictures online and you cant even recognize some of the people AND I look so much better than some of them heh.  It is funny, all of this time I have been my worst critic and now I see what others see in me.  Interesting. I always was very critical of every blemish, scar and bump on my face nad body and now am not so much anymore.  I always get told I look younger than I really am and I also know that it would be even better if I would lose those last stubborn pounds that defy me.

When I turn 40 I want to go rafting in the grand canyon then hike for 2 nights, go golfing in Sedona, then a spa day, then hit Vegas for 3 nights.  I am so excited for this and have started exercising and getting in shape for the trek.  I figure that I have two years to save and realistically push myself. I think or rather I know I can do it.  Just have to jump into reality a few times when I am sitting on the couch with the wave of guilt pushing me off and on the treadmill, I should have already been on the treadmill.  I do not eat after 7 pm that is my new rule and have been very good about it until I got sick.  And I only screwed up that one day.  So there.  I havent gone to the gym but I have been walking at least 7000 steps a day, until the headache I have tends to cripple me.  I have not been drinking enough water, hence the headache I am sure... (going to get water right now)

I need to keep my goal in my mind.  I ordered pamphlets so that i can post them everywhere so I can see my long term goal...

What is your 40th year goal?

Hope I won't get kicked off
Just turned 40 something so hope I won't get kicked off of here. I am actually 15 in my own mind, so maybe that'll help. I'm a writer, I have kids and a husband and 4 dogs and as a result of this- my life is insane. Happy but, insane.

I like smart people with a great sense of humor. If that's you, let's hang out. So while I am no longer 30 something, I'm not 50 either. Thank God.

Peace -

New music source
Hey everyone --

If you guys are looking for a great internet radio station, you should check out the Open Music Network. It specializes in a lot of independent modern art rock and progressive rock that you won't find played on mainstream radio. It's a good chance to expose yourself to some GREAT music that you might not have otherwise heard of. So support internet radio and check it out. Thirtysomethings will dig this music. It's hosted on Live 365, so it's free to listen to if you have a free Live 365 account. Just click on the link below. Thanks...

Ok, not sure if I am what this community had in mind when it was set up but I thought I would post here and see if I could meet new friends.

I am to old for a quarter life crisis (been there done that) and still way to young for a mid life crisis (but I am plotting it out ehheheeh). I am a recently turned 40 female, married w/kids. I live in Texas with hubby, kids, and assorted critters. I love reading (especially sci-fi, fantasy) watching bad "b" movies, attending conventions and in general seeing what lies around the next corner of life.

Hi everyone! Glad to see this site I definitely can relate to. I live in Manila, Philippines and an LJ user for almost 4 years now. The world did not crumble down by the time I turned 32 two months ago. I'm starting to warm up to the reality that being thirty-something isn't bad after all. Those numbers testify to the fact that I have lived.
